Walking into our new lives in style!

We are absolutely in awe of Jenna's stunning Houston wedding! From her very own custom Sherri gown to all the luxurious details, it was truly a sight to behold. We are so exited to share the amazing process of creating Jenna's dream dress with all our bridal readers!

Jenna's visit to our store was an absolute delight - she came in brimming with enthusiasm, eager to embark on the journey of creating her very own custom gown. With a clear vision in mind, Jenna explored a range of styles, from fit-and-flare to ballgowns, before ultimately deciding on two distinct looks for her special day. With her unwavering drive and impeccable creativity, we worked together to craft a one-of-a-kind wedding dress that transforms seamlessly from a grand ballgown to a stunning fitted silhouette.

Why did you choose Elizabeth Lee?

“I was looking for something that I could make it my own, but also not break the bank. I found their instagram page and instantly knew this was where I needed to go!”

I said yes to my dress at Elizabeth Lee!

How was the process from choosing your dress and then picking it up?

“The process was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I came in not knowing exactly what I wanted.”

Why did you choose your dress?

“We pulled several styles and ended up designing the perfect dress that gave me the best of both worlds. They really helped me check all of my boxes.”

The outcome of Jenna's entire ensemble left us absolutely ecstatic! It was truly an honor to be a part of her special day and to bring her dream dress to life. We extend our heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes to Jenna as she embarks on this exciting new journey of marriage.

Jane and Reese's Enchanted Forest Wedding

Today, I'm excited to share the story of the beautiful custom bridal gown we crafted for our client Jane. When Jane first approached us, she had a clear vision of the dress she wanted, and we were eager to collaborate with her to bring her dream to fruition. We began by customizing the neckline of her gown, meticulously perfecting every detail with paper patterns and mock-ups. Our team added exposed boning and other special embellishments to give the dress a unique and personalized touch that reflected Jane's individual style.

But that was only the beginning. Jane also requested a detachable skirt with exquisite 3D floral accents and intricate placement. We worked closely with her throughout the design process to ensure the gown was tailored perfectly to her figure, enhancing her natural beauty and confidence. On her wedding day, Jane looked breathtakingly stunning, and we were proud to have played a role in making her dreams a reality.

From the Bride

1. Why did you choose Elizabeth Lee?

My wedding planner knew I had a very specific vision for my dress, so she suggested Elizabeth Lee because she knew you all could make that vision come to life with a custom piece! I believe she had worked with clients who had chosen you before, so she had nothing but good things to say about how seamless the process was.

2. How was the process from choosing your dress and then picking it up? Why did you choose your dress?

My experience with Elizabeth Lee was wonderful from the start! We were greeted with champagne right when we walked in the beautiful showroom and I definitely felt like a princess, which is something I think every bride wants. I loved being able to try on gorgeous dresses from the rack to get a feel for what I liked, and then using elements from those dresses to build my own custom dream gown! I took elements from several dresses that I tried on and the design team helped me blend them into a dress that was perfect for me and my big day. Watching them design and sketch my vision was so magical, and I have that beautiful sketch to keep and cherish forever. The team was very communicative, sending progress photos of my dress throughout the design and production processes, so I was able to make any tweaks and suggestions as it was coming along. And the try-on and pickup processes were seamless; when I needed a minor alteration the team was able to handle it in a flash and made it so easy on me.

I chose the design of my dress because it made me feel like I was living in a fairytale! I know it’s cliche, but I truly did feel like a princess and the fact that I helped to design my own gown made it that much more special.

6. What's your favorite part of your wedding day?

My favorite part was our private dance at the end of the night. Sarah, our wedding planner, ushered all the guests out to get ready for our send off, and we had one last song with the band all to ourselves where we could be quiet and take it all in and just enjoy each other. It really felt like time slowed down.

7. Details of your wedding, date, venue, colors, and anything you wish to share.

My whole vision was based on the words fairytale, dreamy, romantic, and enchanted garden. The florals were my number one priority when it came to design. We had a full floral tunnel installed in the hallway entrance to the venue, and it was so dreamy!!! We even had oak trees brought in to add to the enchanted forest feel. I knew I wanted tons of color for the wedding. We had pink and lavender taper candles, green velvet table linens, natural wood chairs with dusty blue velvet upholstery, and butterfly details scattered throughout. The cake was adorned with tons of delicate sugar wafer butterflies, with more butteries suspended overhead. The bridesmaids dresses were dusty blue as well, and convertible so the girls could wear them all slightly differently (one strap, bows, strapless, shawl, etc.). We had a beautiful floral ceiling installation above the dance floor with thousands of wisteria flowers and vines, and our gorgeous wedding crest plastered on the white dance floor. Reese and I have always been obsessed with Mario Kart and are very competitive, so we installed a 15 foot video wall where guests could play, and we had our first race as a married couple emcee’d by the band. I won, of course. We also made it a priority that no guest would ever be bored at any point in the night, so we had tons of activities planned - a photo booth with props, a bananas foster stand and ice cream bar, a cigar roller, giant Jenga and corn hole, Super Frog from TCU came and joined us on the dance floor, the Mario Kart wall, three different bars, an outdoor tented seating area, a champagne wall escort card feature, and more. I told Reese it was so much fun I’m ready to do it all again!!! :)

At our studio, we take great pride in designing and creating custom bridal gowns that are as unique as the brides who wear them. There's nothing quite like seeing the joy and excitement on our clients' faces when they see their dress for the first time. If you're considering a custom gown for your big day, we invite you to schedule a consultation with us. We would be honored to work with you to create a one-of-a-kind gown that makes you feel radiantly beautiful and confident on your special day.

Emily came into our store with a vision for her wedding dress that was absolutely beautiful. Although she loved our sample Molly dress, she wanted to customize it to make it even more perfect for her big day. Emily wanted to change everything from the back, neckline, silhouette, and even the lace and beading. We were thrilled to work with her on this project and make her dream dress a reality.

The bride designed the dress together with her mom as a mother-daughter project. Throughout the process, Emily was very hands-on, we loved showing her everything from the paper patterns to the lace mapping. Every detail was important to her, and we were happy to make sure everything was just right. When the dress was completed, it was absolutely stunning. We were so proud of the final product that we decided to make a sample of her dress named Mariem which is a combination of her mom's name (Mary Ann) and the bride's name (Em) to land on Mariem.

1. Why did you choose Elizabeth Lee?

I had already gone to several dress boutiques by the time I discovered Elizabeth Lee and was surprised at how little variety there was. I sought out large retailers with tons of designers but all the dresses just looked like a sea of clones. Nothing stuck out and I had a clear picture of what I wanted with zero luck. After more searching online, I came across Elizabeth Lee, the first designer that touted the option to customize any of their dresses or design your own couture gown. Assuming it would be out of my budget, I still made an appointment and was pleasantly surprised - this was MY kind of boutique! A stunning show room that feels special and has experts to answer every question and concern.

2. How was the process of choosing your dress and then picking it up? Why did you choose your dress?

The process with Elizabeth Lee was exciting and special from beginning to end. At my first appointment, I found several gowns that had the features I was looking for in my dream dress. We discussed customizable options before moving to the fully custom option; I couldn't believe that it turned out to be within my budget so it was a no-brainer. We pulled patterns, styles, and color inspirations from dresses in the shop that together inspired my vision. A few weeks later I received a hand-drawn picture of what it would look like (something I'm glad I'll get to keep forever).

The whole process took around 6-8 months and I got to choose everything from the lace pattern, sleeve details, beading, glitter, the dimensions of the keyhole back, neckline height, and layer materials. I'd get a text with pictures when another step in the process was complete that needed my approval which gave me the opportunity to make adjustments and ask questions. It was nerve-wracking to not see or touch my dress until it arrived but their update process kept my nerves at bay. I also appreciated their feedback when I just wanted an expert's opinion who had the experience to complement my vision.

The day I received the picture of my finished product, I was in awe of my stunning gown. It couldn't have been more perfect. My dress fit like a glove and needed only one alteration. They also referred me to their alterations partner who did the most beautiful job on my bustles. They worked great together.

The most special thing about my dress was that I designed it all with my mother. We are very close and this was an opportunity to make a piece of art together that was more than just a dress. It created such a beautiful memory for us as a takeaway from planning my wedding together. I hope my daughter one day will get the opportunity to wear this timeless dress too.

3. What's your favorite part of your wedding day?

My favorite part of my wedding day was standing at the altar with my groom during the ceremony. It was a surreal and emotional experience that I specifically recall trying so hard to remember every single moment. Kent didn't break eye contact with me from the moment I walked down the aisle until we had our first kiss. And I'm so thankful for the Shutter and Sound videographers who caught the whole ceremony so we can relive the moment forever.

The custom piece we created for Emily was truly a work of art, and we're glad we could help bring her vision to life. We wish Emily all the best as she starts this new chapter in her life. Emily's story is a testament to the power of creativity and customization. It's important for brides to have the ability to create their dream dress and make it uniquely theirs. We're grateful to have been a part of Emily's journey, and we look forward to helping other brides create their one-of-a-kind dress.

XoXo,

Elizabeth Lee

Casey's "Till Death Do Us Apart" Wedding

Custom Black Wedding Dress with a Jumpsuit!

When Casey came with her beautiful vision of a black jumpsuit and black dress, we were so thrilled. We could not wait to share with you her beautiful wedding dress and her absolutely perfect wedding day.

1. Why and how did you choose Elizabeth Lee?

I chose Elizabeth Lee because I knew I wanted a custom dress and after a bit of research I found you on Instagram and fell in love with the unique dresses that your bridal shop makes. I knew it was the right place when I saw the other black dresses and fun silhouettes that other brides had ordered.”

We had so much fun drawing these sketches for Casey’s vision. We know it could be nerve wrecking to make a completely custom dress, so in order to ease some of the angst, we have our talented sketch artist create beautiful, artistic renderings of our bride’s unique design. But we think her dress turned out better than the sketches!

2. How was the process from choosing your dress and then picking it up?

“Why did you choose your dress? Picking out my dress was so much fun. I think I am a bit out of the ordinary in that I had a very clear vision about the type of dress I wanted. I knew I wanted a black dress, that transitioned into a jumpsuit. When I came in I tried on a few dress options and was able to narrow what I wanted down to a certain lace and final vision with the help of the designers and the staff.”

These are some behind the scene lace mapping photos. We love to include our brides in the creative process and Casey was able to see the laces of her dress pinned before sewn on.

3. What are some of your favorite memories of your wedding day?

“My two favorite moments from my wedding day were seeing my then fiancés face as I walked down the aisle and our vows together. Our vows ended up sounding incredibly similar and it was really a heartfelt moment to know we are so similar.”

Meet Yvette, one of Elizabeth Lee’s brides from the very beginning! Her wedding might have been 5 years ago, but she has left a lasting impression on us with her kindness and beauty in the Terry Lee dress. We absolutely loved helping her with her gown selection and also had the pleasure hosting her for her bridal portraits.

Who doesn’t love a good veil shot!?

Why did you choose Elizabeth Lee?

I LOVE locally owned small businesses and when my dear friends, Wendy and Jared opened Elizabeth Lee, I knew that was the only place I would ever buy a wedding dress.

How was the process from choosing your dress and then picking it up? Why did you choose your dress?

I don’t love shopping and trying on clothes but as Jared & Wendy chose gowns for me and I tried them one by one, I literally felt like it was a bridal scene from a movie. Never once was I pressured to make a decision and the moment I saw myself in the dress I chose, I literally got tears in my eyes. That had never happened to me before.

What's your favorite part of your wedding day?

It was the absolute most perfect day. My favorite part was dancing with my dad as he sang to me like when I was a little girl.

Our desire is to share more of our brides on our blogs. They are the ones worth celebrating and are the reason we keep on going. Her beautiful wedding photos have brought us so much joy and we are grateful to feature them as a permanent fixture on our website. We wish her many years of happiness and life time of joy!

Bridal Shopping 101

For the bride planning her first bridal appointment! We have 6 tips to get you through all the (e)motions of this beautiful experience! So relax, take in the moment and remember we’ve got your back!

The day is finally here! You have planned, prepped, and anxiously awaited this day for as long as you can remember, and now it is finally time to… “Say Yes” to your bridal gown! The excitement is almost too much and you’re asking yourself, “But what should I wear? '' or “Do I need to bring my shoes.. Wait! I don’t have shoes!”

Don’t Panic!

We are here to help you know exactly what to expect. Here are 6 tips to help you prepare for your appointment:

Bring Undergarments. If you are planning on wearing spanx or shapewear on your big day… bring them,  or something similar, to your fitting for a more complete wedding day look! While most wedding gowns are made with bra cups, bustier women may benefit from additional support, so bring reinforcements as a precaution. Wearing undergarments is a must, many salons will not allow you to try on their gowns without them.

Be flexible on your shoes. A custom hem is a great option if you are looking to save on alterations. If you choose a custom hem, don’t fully commit to a specific pair of Jimmy Choos until you have tried on your gown. By waiting until after your first fitting, you are allowing yourself the opportunity to find shoes that make your gown the perfect fit without the need of an expensive hem in alterations. But if you have already fallen in love with a specific shoe, expect that you may need to adjust the length of your gown in alterations.

Size Chart vs Custom Size. Custom sizing is ideal when trying to save in alterations. Choosing a custom size compared to a size chart seems like a no-brainer, however it is important to know the difference between a custom and perfect fit. Wedding Planning is stressful and many women lose or gain inches without realizing. Weight can fluctuate depending on various factors and is common in most brides. Expect that you may need slight adjustments with custom sizing even if you have maintained weight, or more if you worked to lose or gain. Unless the gown is made on your person, a perfect fit is not guaranteed.

Who can you trust with alterations? Ask your bridal salon who they recommend to take special care of your gown. Using a specialist trusted by your salon can give you peace of mind when handing it off to be worked on for that perfect fit. Call ahead of time so you can have a plan for alterations once you have your gown!

Revel in the details. Take in every aspect of your gown. If you want to make customizations, make sure you address them in the salon with your stylist. Take a deep breath and pay attention to the design.

Celebrate! You are a beautiful bride! Bring along up to 4 of your closest friends or family members and bask in the moment, but be advised that too many opinions can be overwhelming. It’s not every day that you are the center of attention. If your schedule allows, plan a full day of brunch and pampering! Take pictures, drink champagne, and celebrate your moment!

We hope these tips help you feel at ease when going into your first bridal fitting. Rest assured that you are not alone when it comes to all of the overwhelming emotions surrounding your wedding planning agenda! If you are ever in doubt, reach out to your salon or planner for advice. That is what we are here for!

At Elizabeth Lee Bridal, it is our mission to provide a custom couture experience that enables today’s modern brides to completely design their dream gown from start to finish! Every gown is poured over to ensure each extravagant detail is perfect! We provide custom experiences that allow each bride to use their unique style to design a gown perfect for them. We understand that no bride is the same, and because of this, each paper pattern is created specifically measured to the bride that designed it. With Elizabeth Lee, your dream becomes a reality.

While shopping for her wedding dress, Wendy found bridal gown designs to be somewhat bland and the shopping experience high-pressure.  Shortly after their own wedding, they jumped in to the bridal industry with their first accessories line.
